Adult Mental Health Treatment Program

Adult IOP ProgramAs a part of the behavioral health continuum of care, our mental health program for adults serves individuals 18 years and older who are suffering with a mood or anxiety disorder in Atlanta and its surrounding communities. The intensive outpatient behavioral health program is person-centered and individualized to address each client’s unique needs, goals and preferences.

One important goal of treatment is to identify and build on the client’s existing strengths and resources. Adults may experience a number of demands and responsibilities in their daily lives, in addition to the specific challenges presented by mood and anxiety disorders. We focus on the whole person, encompassing the individual’s thoughts, emotions, mind/body responses and relationships. Clients will be able to build a more meaningful and connected life through a deeper understanding of self, expanded skills and enhanced use of both internal and external resources.

Pyramid Family Behavioral Healthcare provides a program that encompasses different styles of learning to make content relatable and tangible. We include group process, experiential, expressive and classroom style interactions that enable clients to practice and apply the learning to their individual experience. Opportunities for learning, growth and change are facilitated through individual, family and group therapy sessions.

Support systems are integral to every client’s progress toward identified goals and desired change. That’s why we make the family of each client an essential component of our outpatient program. Our adult mental health treatment program offers weekly family workshops and family therapy sessions, alongside bi-weekly treatment planning sessions that encourage family participation.

Mental health treatment built for adults 18+

Once admitted to our adult mental health treatment program, we’ll work with you to create a custom treatment plan — one that commonly includes both psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management. Individual and family counseling can be accessed independently, or in conjunction with our psychiatric services. Because all of our services are offered from a single location, our multi-disciplinary team is able to work as a cohesive unit in addressing issues that families are facing today.

To further enhance our integrative approach, outpatient group therapy will also be offered to supplement the care and support provided by our counseling center.

Our licensed clinical staff can treat a broad range of psychiatric issues, challenges that can include depression and anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, behavioral issues and body image concerns. Our approach is trauma-informed, person-centered and strength-based, and allows clients to draw on family systems or support groups whenever beneficial. We adopt a holistic, integrative approach to all treatment modalities, to create an environment of clinical excellence.
